About Stevie Ashe

Stevie Ashe – Born 11/27/98

Stevie has always had a love for Rock N Roll and started attending concerts at a young age. At age 5, he was wrestling and then moved onto football at age 7. However, he really started enjoying music around this time. He attended many concerts, including Van Halen, Def Leppard, Sammy Hagar, ZZ Top, and other acts.

Stevie’s first drum kit was a small 3 piece First Alert. As a big Van Halen fan, the first song he learned to play was “Dreams”. It was actually around this time that Stevie started taking lessons to learn and play the drums. It was also at this time that Stevie acquired his second drum set, a 5 piece set.

By age 12, Stevie had decided to stop playing football all together and start concentrating on his music. Enter his 3rd drum kit, a Ludwig 6 bass drum kit, similar to Alex Van Halens at the time. His skills were sharpening, and he was able to play all the greatest hits of Van Halen, Guns N Roses, and Def Leppard.

Even at this age, Stevie was able to get into clubs and drum a song or two with local acts. Everyone loved seeing Stevie play, and the reaction was tremendous. Stevie has also played with several bands for different charities over the years.

Then at age 13, Stevie saw his first Motley Crue concert and was instantly a fan, particularly of Tommy Lee. It was at this time he had his first custom built 40” bass drum and digital kit by Ludwig, and developed a drumming style very similar to Tommy Lee.

It was also around this time that Stevie started learning to play piano. He was a big fan of the piano part in “Home Sweet Home”, and after only two piano lessons had mastered the song. He actually decided not to continue with piano lessons, and instead taught himself by watching YouTube videos and playing along.

At age 14, Stevie attended a Rock Camp in Las Vegas where he drummed many songs with Sammy Hagar and other musicians. He is now 15 years old, and has mastered both the drums and piano.
